Fiscal Court approves lease renewal, personnel appointment and inmate food contract; routine financial items cleared

At a regular meeting the Campbell County Fiscal Court approved a set of routine and operational items by voice vote.

The court adopted the Sept. 4 meeting minutes after a commissioner moved and another seconded the motion.

Resolution R-seven 424: The court approved a resolution authorizing the judge/executive to enter a lease renewal with Campbell County Youth Soccer League Inc. for use of parks. A motion to adopt the resolution was moved, seconded and passed by voice vote.

Personnel appointment: The court confirmed the appointment of Robert Sewell as a police officer (grade P08) with the Campbell County Police Department, effective Sept. 30, 2024. The sheriff's office requested the appointment; the court recorded that Sewell is a lateral hire who will be granted 13 years of service credit.

Inmate food services contract: The court confirmed award of inmate food services for fiscal year 2025 to Victus at a proposed cost of $1.50 per meal, as requested by jailer Jim Daley. Finance director Laura stated the cost was included in the fiscal 2025 jail budget. "It complies with all correctional, Kentucky food standards and nutritional guidance that they're required to comply with," she said.

Budget transfers and claims: The court approved transfers in the sheriff's 2024 budget (including an amendment dated 09/05/2024) and approved payment of claims and claims paid per standing order on 09/11/2024 and 09/18/2024. All motions were made, seconded and approved by voice vote.

The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that was approved by voice vote.
