Augusta County authorizes Envision Collaborative Interiors to oversee courthouse furniture selections

Augusta County supervisors voted to authorize the county attorney/administrator to finalize a contract with Envision Collaborative Interiors to oversee furniture selections, procurement and installation for the new county courthouse.
County staff explained the Moseley contract included a $3,700,000 allowance for courthouse furniture and that stakeholders (judges, clerks, commonwealth's attorney and court staff) have already been engaged on desk sizes, seating and layout. Staff said a furniture consultant will work with the interior designer, stakeholders and the county to produce final specifications, vet manufacturers, and assist with procurement and installation oversight.
Staff told the board that the consultant fees would be paid by the furniture manufacturer or supplier under the cooperative procurement contract language, rather than directly by the county. At the board’s request, staff provided sample consultant pricing included in proposals: one firm provided an hourly rate table (project manager at about $114/hour; install labor at about $61.45/hour), while another firm (JLL) proposed a service fee around $129,200 plus additional hourly rates for out-of-scope work. Staff noted lead times for manufacturing and stressed that procurement and installation scheduling will be coordinated to ensure timely delivery.
A supervisor moved to authorize the county attorney/administrator to sign the contract with Envision Collaborative Interiors for oversight of furniture selection and purchasing; the motion was seconded and passed 6–1.
The board’s authorization directs staff to finalize contract terms consistent with the procurement parameters described and to return to the board if material changes to cost or scope are identified.
Next steps: staff will finalize the contract document for signature and coordinate scheduling with the general contractor and stakeholders to align furniture delivery and installation with the courthouse construction timeline.
