Augusta County details relief, volunteer and logistics efforts after regional flooding

Miss Bragg emphasized the volunteer structure at the county collection point: volunteers sort, pack and palletize donations; staff and a core volunteer group have been present daily; more volunteers are needed for ongoing operations. She asked board members to continue support, noting relief needs will persist beyond the first days following the storm.
In Q&A board members asked about dam management and whether lowering lake levels ahead of storms is practiced; staff said in their tenure (since 02/2010) they are not aware of proactively lowering dams but will consult Headwaters and report back.
Miss Bragg’s presentation concluded with a call for continued volunteer assistance and recognition of the many organizations and individuals who contributed time and goods.
