Estill County readies surplus-property listing and orders survey for logged Woodridge parcel

A motion was made to proceed with the surplus-property listing and online sale process; roll-call responses recorded affirmative votes from members present.
Separately, the court discussed a donated parcel known in the meeting as "Woodridge Ridge." Officials said trees on or near the parcel had been logged and that the county needs a professional survey to establish boundaries before the Forest Service can inventory marked stumps and estimate value of timber taken. "What we need to do is... get that property surveyed so we know exactly where the boundaries are," a member said. The Forest Service would then mark stumps and estimate what was taken so the county could calculate a recovery amount.
Court members recorded affirmative responses on the surplus-property motion and directed staff to pursue the survey and follow-up work on the Woodridge parcel as described in the meeting.
