The McCreary County Fiscal Court voted to formally add Rainbow Circle Road to the county road inventory following a mapping error identified by county staff.
County staff said the road measures 815 feet (0.154 miles), is located in District 4, and has been maintained in practice by county crews even though it was never placed on official county maps. A department representative said the road serves between eight and 12 houses and noted there are disabled residents along the road who rely on maintenance.
A presenter explained, "I've had crews out there before, and the (road) has been maintained by the county," and said the action corrects a prior mapping omission. The court approved the addition by roll call vote.
The county will add Rainbow Circle Road to its official inventory so it can be scheduled for maintenance and included in future road-planning work.
