The McPherson County Board of Commissioners conducted a series of routine votes on Dec. 9, approving multiple personnel actions, procurement contracts, reimbursements and resolutions.
Personnel and hires - Approved PCN for Adrianna Sluder to join the sheriff's office as a corrections officer, effective Dec. 23, 2024. - Approved emergency management PCNs for Jaden Tremblay (effective Dec. 23, 2024) and Anna Turner Simon (effective Jan. 6, 2025).
Procurement and equipment - Approved purchase of a 40-foot Sturdy Built storage container for county maintenance, total not to exceed $5,600 (delivery included). - Approved purchase of a new set of tires for motor grader unit #70 from Smoky Valley Tire, not to exceed $6,798. - Approved purchase of a 20-foot Sturdy Built storage container for the sheriff's department, total not to exceed $3,750. - Approved purchase of three ballistic vests through ABM Supply LLC, total not to exceed $3,584. - Approved Midway Motors' tire package for the IT/admin vehicle (Wrangler AT Adventure) not to exceed $1,371.17; staff will confirm sales/excise tax treatment.
Finance, grants and reimbursements - Approved CDBG contractor application payment No. 8 (final payment) for McPherson Road Water District No.1, $122,864.50, with the next phase to begin under a separate grant. - Approved reimbursement request for Rural Water District No.2, not to exceed $23,005.58. - Approved election-related checks, missed juror/witness checks, accounts payable and payroll as presented.
Resolutions, licenses and appointments - Adopted Resolution No. 2024-2022 designating depositories for McPherson County funds. - Adopted Resolution No. 2024-23 designating the McPherson Sentinel as the official county newspaper. - Approved cereal malt beverage retail licenses for Rolling Acres Golf Course (license 2025-2) and Lindsberg Golf Course (license 22025-1). - Approved appointment of Ricky (transcript alternately spelled Schrader/Trader) to the Inman Fire Department board, replacing Jerry Sisson.
Leases and facilities - Approved Community Corrections relocation lease at 121 North Main (18-month term, then month-to-month) and authorized staff to sign. - Approved county attorney office relocation lease with McPherson Grand LLC (one-year term, then month-to-month); total lease-term rent presented as $46,836 with estimated annual operating costs noted.
