At the Dec. 10 session the court’s presiding officer said he has been meeting with legislators and budget committees to craft a legislative agenda and that a top priority will be funding for Commerce Park 2 and related architectural design work.
The presiding officer told the court the overall project could carry a price tag of roughly $50 million, adding the court will seek funding outside county resources to support the development and hopes to put a resolution formalizing the legislative agenda before the court at the Dec. 27 special meeting. "It's probably gonna have a $50,000,000 price tag at the end of the day," he said.
No specific appropriation or grant award was discussed or approved at the meeting; the remarks were a planning update. Court members were invited to offer additions to the legislative agenda prior to the Dec. 27 session.
