Christian County Fiscal Court approves routine expenditures, appointments and personnel actions

The court approved the minutes from its Nov. 26 meeting and then voted to authorize expenditures in several funds: the general fund, road and bridge fund, jail fund (including overtime), E‑911 fund for radio upgrades, health fund, LGE/LGA funds and a general obligation fund allocation for radios. Motions were made, seconded and approved either by voice vote or roll call; the clerk conducted roll calls for several items and members responded affirmatively.
On appointments, the court accepted the resignation of Ron Adams from the Christian County Water District board and appointed Rodney Hamby to complete the unexpired term through Dec. 31, 2026. The court also reappointed Ken Tucker as chair of the Hopkinsville‑Christian County Airport Board for a term beginning Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2028, and reappointed Ramsey Morris to another four‑year term.
Personnel actions included removing several employees from probationary status with effective dates specified in the meeting and hiring Kathy Ross as a part‑time employee effective Dec. 16, 2024, with a 90‑day probationary period and a pay rate discussed at $12 per hour for up to 96 hours per month.
The court announced a special called meeting for Dec. 27 and the next regular meeting for Jan. 14. No contested or closely divided votes were recorded in the transcript; routine items were carried by the court.
The court’s presiding officer said he has been meeting with legislators on a preliminary legislative agenda that will include funding requests for Commerce Park 2 and related architectural work; the court plans to consider a resolution approving that legislative agenda at the Dec. 27 special meeting.
