Bracken County tourism director outlines lodging inventory, ARPA photography and event rules

Janet Hunt, Bracken County’s tourism director, told the fiscal court she has been with tourism for six years and used the meeting to summarize recent work and upcoming updates.
Hunt said she coordinates events, communications and website listings for the county, and that she will soon update the Kentucky State Tourism pages and local listings with new event and lodging information. She said the county’s inventory of places to stay in Augusta totals about 37 when multi-unit guest houses and campgrounds are counted and described how properties such as Earthway Treehouse operate multiple rental units.
Hunt described regional partnerships including Lincoln Valley Adventures and the Northern Kentucky River Region and noted the county benefited from ARPA funds used to hire a photographer to produce promotional images for 10 participating counties, including Bracken County. She said she will post the photographs on social media and update linked sites.
Members asked about the feasibility of reviving a popular car show in Augusta; Hunt said the city requires event insurance for events not hosted by the tourism department and suggested Farm Bureau as a contact for organizers. Hunt said insurance costs vary based on projected attendance and activities.
The court thanked Hunt for the update and wished her a Merry Christmas as she left the podium.
