Bracken County fiscal court approves routine claims, transfers; tables budget amendment until Dec. 23

The court then approved a general fund budget transfer, a jail interfund cash transfer, and multiple vendor-claim lists for the general, road, jail and dispatch funds. Craig Miller was recorded as abstaining on the general fund vendor claims; otherwise the motions passed with affirmative votes from present members.
During other business, the court considered a request from Brooksville District constable Kenny Carl for reimbursement of $351.83 to repair the starter assembly on a county-leased vehicle used for official duties. After witnesses and deputies described Carl’s on-duty assistance, the court voted to reimburse Carl $351.83 and to approve a transfer from the general fund reserve — described in the meeting as covering $351 and an additional $80.83 — so the treasurer can create an account to pay the reimbursement. Court members also directed that a vehicle-maintenance line be considered during next year’s budget process.
Clerk’s staff informed the court that the second reading and adoption of a budget amendment must be delayed because required signatures from the Kentucky Department for Local Government (DLG) and legal advertisement could not be completed in time. The court set a special meeting for Dec. 23 at 10 a.m. in the courtroom to consider the matter.
