During its Sept. 18 meeting, the Harrison County Commission approved multiple procurement actions on the consent and business agenda, including awarding low construction and consultant bids and contracting engineering services.
Staff recommended awarding the GSA parking-lot improvements contract to Pirotta Paving Company, Inc. at the low bid of $90,257.50; commissioners discussed community corrections board involvement and legal review and approved the award. For geotechnical construction-materials testing at the new animal control facility, the county received a single bid from Terracon Consultants and approved awarding that scope to Terracon.
The commission also approved a professional-services contract with Thrasher to design specifications and oversee the bid process for repaving four county-owned parking lots at a cost of $11,800. Discussion noted timing for paving this season versus sealing until next season.
Each motion was approved by voice vote with staff directed to finalize contracting consistent with procurement policies and legal review.
