Police present fall-quarter public-safety report highlighting outreach and training

Captain Flores presented the Laguna Niguel Police Services fall-quarter report at the Dec. 17 city council meeting, summarizing training, outreach and resource allocations over the quarter.
Flores said police members participated in the countywide "Great ShakeOut" earthquake drill and in Alert OC regional notification testing, and urged residents to register for Alert OC. He listed school and community engagements including events at Mission Lutheran Preschool, Hidden Hills and George White Elementary schools, Miguel Hills Middle School, Saint Anne's School, and participation with the Orange County Sheriff's public affairs and community engagement division on internet-safety presentations.
The department also supported community events such as Red Ribbon Week, drug prescription take-back operations in partnership with the DEA, the holiday tree lighting, and the Dec. 2024 holiday parade. Councilmembers thanked police services for a recent arrest in an alleged violent-crime incident reported in local media, and the mayor and council extended holiday greetings to staff and residents.
Captain Flores closed by thanking the community for ongoing engagement and wished attendees happy holidays.
