Tracy proclaims January 2025 Human Trafficking Prevention Month; recognizes FOCUS program for children

Mayor Nancy D. Young presented two proclamations at the Dec. 17 meeting: one declaring January 2025 as Human Trafficking Prevention Month and another recognizing the FOCUS program, a multidisciplinary county initiative to support children exposed to trauma.
Brian Piccari, representing the San Joaquin County ENDED Alliance and a high-school student social-media team, accepted the human-trafficking proclamation and described a student-led social-media initiative and an END IT Summit scheduled for January (stockton venue; seating limited). Piccari said the regional coalition had reached thousands previously and is re-launching efforts in the post‑COVID period with county education and health partners.
For the FOCUS proclamation, Jennifer D'Angelo and Nora Hannah described multi-agency collaboration and funding support that enabled the program’s local launch. D'Angelo said the California Department of Public Health and San Joaquin County public-health partners provided grant resources to help stand up the multidisciplinary response, and said Tracy is the first city in the county to host a local rollout.
What’s next: Flyers and outreach materials were made available to attendees; organizers encouraged attendees to register for the January summit and to contact the listed county partners for follow-up information.
