Departing board member Shanda offers farewell and thanks to staff and colleagues

Board member Shanda used her final formal meeting appearance to thank fellow board members, staff, teachers, custodial and transportation personnel and security staff for their service and support.
Shanda described the work as a ‘‘grand time’’ and named several long-serving colleagues, saying, “This is my last formal meeting. I will be here until the next one is sworn in, to serve.” She praised the district’s recent five-year facilities plan and noted new school construction and athletic facility improvements discussed during her tenure.
She said she looks forward to volunteering and spending time with family after she steps down and thanked the board and staff for their service to students.
The chair thanked Shanda for her remarks before the board moved on to executive session and later returned to take the superintendent contract vote.
