The Westminster City Council approved a slate of appointments and a procedural ordinance affecting sewer‑authority representation.
Council voted to appoint Kevin Bronson, Scott Paris and David Dowler to the Elk County Joint Regional Sewer Authority for terms beginning Jan. 1, 2025. The motion passed on recorded voice votes with council members registering yes votes.
Earlier in the meeting staff presented an item to repeal the ordinance that allowed the mayor to serve ex officio on the sewer authority. Staff said removing the automatic ex officio provision will allow the council to make appointments annually and will not block the mayor from serving if the council so decides. Staff also said the sewer authority’s composition is likely to change during 2025.
On planning‑commission appointments the council nominated two candidates and approved Charles Morgan by recorded vote. Andrea Harvin was also nominated but council proceeded with a motion to appoint Morgan to the available seat; staff will contact Morgan to confirm details.
