The Franklin City Council on Feb. 19 approved several routine items in a single meeting session:
- Amendment to budgetary ordinance 24‑22: Council approved a clerical correction to the salary ordinance to reflect that the city’s human resources generalist is an exempt employee (staff said it was a Scribner’s error). The Clerk‑Treasurer, Jan Jones, had noted the correction.
- Resolution 25‑02 (intent to reimburse): Council approved a resolution declaring the city’s official intent to reimburse certain sewer‑related expenditures from future sewer bond proceeds — described by staff as a routine first step in bond financing.
- Designation of Title VI / ADA coordinator: With City Engineer Mark Richards preparing to retire, Council appointed Assistant City Engineer Matt McElroy as the city’s ADA coordinator; Joanna Tennell remains the Title VI coordinator per the resolution.
- Interlocal agreement with Franklin Union Needham Township: The council approved receiving funds from the township trustee to purchase fire equipment the township is authorized to buy; the Board of Works had also reviewed the arrangement for purchasing.
Each of these items was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote without recorded dissent. Following these actions the council heard comments, thanked city crews for snow removal, exchanged brief remarks and adjourned.
