Board approves claims and payroll, then recesses to address Heritage Center water damage

The board approved claims totaling $159.67 and prior bills of $11,437.70 by voice vote. A payroll resolution dated Dec. 13, 2024 was also approved. Votes were recorded as aye.
At the end of the session the board recessed and said it would reconvene at the Heritage Center to review water damage from a sprinkler or pipe break. County staff said the insurance adjuster recommended hiring a service professional to assess the wet areas; that service pro will provide a scope and cost estimate later in the week. "They won't come back with a price of what gets wet until Wednesday of this week," staff said, and supervisors indicated they may act after receiving the professional estimate.
No final appropriation for Heritage Center repairs was made on Dec. 16; the board said any action would follow the adjuster’s and service professional’s reports.
