County approves reclassification of behavioral health position to expand substance-use services

BENTON COUNTY — The Board of Commissioners on Oct. 15 approved the permanent reclassification of a behavioral-health position from HCP-1 (QMHA) to HCP-2 (CADC) within the substance use disorder team.
County staff said the reclassification will increase capacity to provide substance-use disorder services within the county’s deflection program and beyond. The estimated annual cost increase is just under $5,000 and will be funded by identified behavioral-health deflection funds rather than general CJC funds, staff said. The county noted the SUD program uses a fee-for-service rather than a capitated per-population model and should sustain the position over time.
A motion to reclassify the position was moved, seconded and the board voted to approve the reclassification.
