Board approves roughly 5% increase to 2025 environmental health licensing fees

BENTON COUNTY — On Oct. 15 the Board of Commissioners approved a county order implementing the proposed environmental health licensing-fee schedule for 2025, described by staff as an average increase of about 5 percent.
County staff said the order reflects the fee schedule the board reviewed on Oct. 1 and is presented as an order (D-2024-055) implementing the schedule effective Jan. 1, 2025. A motion to approve the order was moved and seconded and the board voted to adopt it.
Commissioners also asked about communicable-disease staffing; staff said Mary Shaughnessy remains in the communicable-disease nurse role, a new case investigator was hired and recruitment for a contact investigator is underway. The public-health team said they will propose budget adjustments in the next biennium to increase communicable-disease capacity.
