Fair board chair Trudy Oberlin and manager Jennifer Martin described the changes as necessary because the bylaws and the MOU had been signed at different times and were inconsistent with the present staffing structure. Staff said county counsel reviewed the proposed changes and provided agreement. The board moved to approve the revised bylaws; the motion passed by voice vote. The board then approved revisions to the memorandum of agreement between the Benton County Fair Board and Benton County.
Commissioners thanked Trudy Oberlin for years of service as a fair board leader and liaison. Staff noted the change will make the bylaws and MOU consistent with current operations.
Next steps: county staff will finalize the documents and proceed with implementation consistent with the approved MOA and bylaws.
