"Each school improvement team and staff have developed these plans collaboratively, focusing on key areas requiring growth and targeted strategies to address them," Hamby told the board. She said summaries of the plans were included in the board packet for member review.
Board members asked for regular updates on steps taken at the schools; one member requested periodic progress reports so the board can track implementation. A motion to accept the plans was made and seconded; the board approved the plans by raising their hands.
The superintendent and assistant superintendent emphasized that the district monitors both proficiency and growth measures and that growth metrics show student progress over time even when proficiency thresholds are not yet met.
