Ms. Bothwell, chair of the facility‑naming team, read excerpts from letters praising Scott's decades of coaching, leadership and volunteer service and moved to name the field. The motion was seconded by Mr. Payne and carried on an aye vote. The board announced plans for a dedication during a spring home game.
Board members and audience members congratulated Coach Scott, who was invited with his family to the front for recognition.
