Council opened the first reading of Ordinance No. 260, a supplemental appropriation ordinance for fiscal year 2024. The ordinance text read that certain departments lacked sufficient appropriation and listed specific increases, including fire ($30,000), attorney ($20,000), airport ($80,000), snow ($27,000), streets ($35,880), buildings ($36,000), parks ($13,000), and several fund transfers and revenue sources (sales tax, grants, interest income and COVID relief amounts).
The ordinance also listed revenue sources and transfers proposed to cover the supplemental appropriations (examples in the ordinance text included sales tax $47,000; city improvement savings $59,000; liquor fund $55,000; grant $83,280; interest income $13,705; and other items).
