The board also accepted the central-office NCSTAR plan as a report — trustees were asked to receive and monitor the plan’s “wildly important goals” rather than take immediate policy action — and approved the Arts Proficiency Endorsement so eligible students may receive an arts endorsement on diplomas beginning this year.
Board leadership nominations were introduced from the floor and seconded before each voice vote. The chair removed the audit financial statements from action this month because the audit report had just been provided and trustees wanted time to review the document in full.
The board will return to further discussion items next month, and staff were asked to follow up with any clarifying documentation requested by trustees. The meeting adjourned after confirmations about upcoming board training.
