Staff presented a proposal to increase youth NFL flag-football registration fees by $8 to help offset rising personnel and uniform costs. The presentation noted a January minimum-wage increase and higher uniform and flag costs; staff projected that an $8 rise would produce sufficient additional revenue to cover part-time personnel and uniform increases based on recent participation (23 teams last season).
The commission opened the item for public comment and, hearing none, moved to a motion to support the fee increase. A motion to approve the staff'recommended fee increase carried after a second; commissioners voted "aye" with no recorded opposition. Staff noted the finance department's review could slightly change the precise dollar amounts but that the $8 figure is the working recommendation.
Staff said the increase would take effect for the next registration round and that staff will confirm final numbers with the finance director before implementing updated fees on registration materials.
