Junction City — The Junction City Council voted unanimously to recommend approval of a liquor-license application for Aroma of India, a restaurant proposed at 510 Greenwood Street.
Chief Waddell presented the application and told the council staff had reviewed the request and had no concerns. Councilors asked a few operational questions; the applicant’s representative said the new location would occupy the south (right) side of the building and that the business is a family restaurant.
Councilor Weisman moved to recommend approval of the application to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission; the council voted in favor with no recorded opposition.
Why it matters: If the OLCC approves the license, Aroma of India will be able to serve alcohol at the Greenwood Street location, affecting downtown dining options and local economic activity.
Next steps: Staff will forward the council’s recommendation to the OLCC; applicant representatives were advised on next steps for OLCC submission.
Quote: "We have no concerns about that application," Chief Waddell said during his presentation.
