At the December board meeting, students and coaches reported on the school district's inaugural esports season and other student activities.

Principal (Mister Carver) introduced a student-produced segment of the morning show "Have You Heard," and then esports participants described the program. An unidentified student said, "I played in the Mario Kart team and the League of Legends team," and coaches described the teams' progress: the Mario Kart team reached the round of eight in state competition and individual players advanced in statewide events. Coaches and staff noted the program served students who might not otherwise have access to gaming equipment and provided new opportunities for teamwork and competition.

Coaches said participation numbers are expected to roughly double next season as the program expands offerings and schedules more matches. The board and audience applauded the students' presentation and wished them success in future competitions.
