During the meeting the board recognized Muhlenberg County students chosen for competitive summer programs. Miss Farler read names and family connections for students selected for the Governor's Scholar Program, the Governor's School for the Arts, the Governor's School for Entrepreneurs and Murray State University's Commonwealth Honors Academy.

Named students included Isaiah Baul, Carter Caspear, Quinn Fleming, Sarah Miller, Addison Tudor, Addison Walker, Jacob Whitehouse, Sarah Jo Armstrong, Taylor Dukes, Molly Miller and Jackson Jones. Miss Farler asked recognized students and their families to step into the lobby for photos and thanked families for their support during summer residential programs.

"We are so proud of these students for the this accomplishment," Miss Farler said, and families were invited to take photos in the lobby at the break.
