The Pleasanton Planning Commission elected Commissioner Morgan as chair and Commissioner Jane as vice chair for 2025 during its Dec. 11 meeting, and adopted the commission's 2025 meeting schedule.
Commissioners discussed traditional succession and seniority before Chair put forward the nomination for Morgan and Jane. "I would propose that I would nominate Commissioner Morgan to be the chair next year," the chair said before the commission voted. The motion to elect Morgan as chair and Jane as vice chair was seconded and approved unanimously, 5-0.
The commission also reviewed subcommittee assignments for the Bicycle Pedestrian Transportation Commission and the Heritage Tree Board. Staff noted vacancies and term expirations on the Heritage Tree Board and described a recently updated tree preservation ordinance intended to reduce some appeals. The commission moved to convert Commissioner Mohan from an alternate to a full member of the Heritage Tree Board; that motion passed 5-0. Appointment of an alternate for the tree board was deferred to a future meeting to allow for potential new commissioners to weigh in.
Action on the meeting schedule: Commissioner Pace moved to approve the 2025 schedule; Commissioner Wedge seconded, and the commission approved the calendar by oral vote, unanimous (5-0).
