The presenter said the Glock-plus-optic package carries a manufacturer price of $1,017.71 per unit; the Keesler quote totaled $49,742.60 after the trade allowance, while an alternate vendor, GT Distributors, quoted $52,602.95.
Commissioners asked how evidence weapons and trade allowances were handled and whether existing Glocks could be adapted for the new optics. The presenter said the agency would transfer some current service pistols to corrections officers as part of career-advancement issuance and that roughly a dozen evidence guns were available for trade (some in parts). He said older service pistols could not be fitted directly with the SROs without purchasing adapter plates or replacing slides; the recommended replacement models have slides milled to accept the optics.
The board voted on a motion to approve RFA 2024-166 as presented; the motion carried by voice vote, 5-0.
