Commissioners said the application period is typically two weeks, and they instructed the clerk’s office to return the item for action at a subsequent meeting (with the possibility of scheduling the appointment for Dec. 30 or the next available meeting). The motion to open applications passed 3 to 0.
Clerk staff said they had not yet received applicants and will accept submissions from residents within Silver Lake Township during the advertised window. The appointee would serve the remainder of the two-year term and stand for election at the next cycle if they wish to continue.
