Staff explained vests typically expire within five years and that replacement schedules and quantities would determine annual purchasing needs.
The total cost for the initial purchases was listed as $68,017.73 and will be paid from the 2025 sheriff’s budget. Commissioners approved the contract 3 to 0.
The approval allows the sheriff’s office to begin ordering vests and managing replacements according to department needs and budgets.
