During the meeting the Ellis County Commission recessed twice for executive sessions under the Kansas Open Meetings Act’s non-elected personnel exception.
Commissioner Neil Younger moved to recess for 10 minutes to discuss the county health director. The motion named attendees who would be present in the session, including three commissioners, Bill Jeter and Darren Myers. The board recessed and returned with the chair saying no decisions had been reached.
A second motion, also made under the non-elected personnel exception, recessed the commission again for a separate 10-minute session to discuss a personnel matter; the motion named the same additional attendees. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The chair reported no decisions were reached during that executive session either.
The open meeting resumed at 09:21 and the commission adjourned.
