The Franklin County Board of Education recognized two staff members Tuesday as the district’s champions of the month for their work leading and expanding a cadet program.

Superintendent (unnamed) read a nomination praising staff sergeant Kiera Brown and master sergeant James Kinsella for growing a program that had been stagnant to produce new opportunities for students. The nomination said the pair supported Franklin County students as well as those at Western Hills and FHS, helped two students win Air Force Flight Academy scholarships and increased cadet participation substantially at events and community activities.

Board members presented Brown and Kinsella with a championship belt and a gift card. The recognition was delivered during the meeting’s opening recognitions segment.

No policy action accompanied the recognition; it was an honorary acknowledgement from the board.
