The Hillsboro SD 1J Board of Directors on Monday ratified a three‑year collective bargaining agreement with the Hillsboro Education Association (HEA) and approved matching memoranda of agreement for nonunion employees.
The board voted unanimously by roll call to approve the contract, which runs from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027. Director Mark Watson moved the measure and Director Nancy Thomas seconded it; the clerk recorded aye votes from Sheehan Kim, Nancy Thomas, Monique Ward, Mark Watson and Yvette Pantoja. "I move that the Board of Directors of Hillsborough approve the 3 year collective bargaining agreement with the Hillsborough Education Association, effective 07/01/2024 through 06/30/2027, as tentatively agreed to by the District Bargaining Team," Watson said when making the motion. After the roll call the chair announced, "Motion carries."
