Conifer library update and community events: standalone library design continuing; parade set for Dec. 7

Library staff told the town hall the Conifer standalone library project remains in the design phase. Jessica Paulson (Assistant Director, Library Public Services) and Jared Johnson (new Conifer Library manager) said the project team expects to seek permits late this year or in early January and still anticipates opening "sometime in the summer." Jared previewed children's and family programs: ornament decorating on Dec. 1, a gingerbread-house program on Dec. 15 and a community book-swap starting in January. Project details and monthly email updates are posted at the library project webpage (jefkalibrary.org/coniferopportunity), and staff invited attendees to ask questions at the open house after the meeting.
Separately, Beth Schneider (Conifer Chamber director) announced the Conifer Christmas Parade on Dec. 7 (parade at 2 p.m.; events 10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) and described neighborhood gatherings, story time and involvement with the new library.
