The Coos Bay Planning Commission on Oct. 8 moved and approved an appointment of a Planning Commission representative to the project advisory committee for the city's Economic Opportunities Analysis and Economic Development Strategic Plan. A commissioner nominated Jeff Marano to serve as the Planning Commission's member on the advisory committee; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote without opposition.
Staff said the advisory role will likely include participation in approximately four meetings over the coming year to provide Planning Commission input on the economic element update. The city also noted it received a $50,000 grant from the Ford Family Foundation to support the economic-element update and related outreach.
