The Coos Bay City Council on Tuesday confirmed three appointments to the city’s budget committee and reappointed City Manager Nicole Rutherford to the North Bend–Charleston Visitor and Convention Bureau board.
Nicole Rutherford summarized the applications: Eli Gonzales and Harold Faulkner (seeking reappointment) and Jason Wartnick (new applicant) had interviewed prior to the meeting. Council handled the public voting requirement by roll call and recorded ayes from each member present. The appointments were approved.
Council also moved to reappoint Nicole Rutherford as the city’s appointee to the North Bend–Charleston Visitor and Convention Bureau (also referenced as Oregon’s Adventure Coast) for a term ending Dec. 31, 2026; the motion passed without recorded opposition. Councilors said having a consistent city representative provides continuity for the regional tourism organization.
Next steps: appointees will be notified of their seats and the city will continue to oversee the tourism board appointment per packet instructions.
