At the meeting the board approved several routine but consequential items.
Policy updates and site councils: Speaker 2 moved, and Speaker 4 seconded, approval of KASB/KSB policy revisions on second read. The board then voted to approve the 2024–25 building site-council membership lists after Speaker 1 explained the state-recommended composition and the difference between site councils and building leadership teams.
Technology purchase: The board approved a purchase of 31 staff desktop computers (HP Pro 400 G9) from CDWG for $26,040 to replace noninstructional users’ machines that can no longer reliably run required software. District staff said ESSER-purchased student devices created the need to backfill staff equipment from other funding sources.
Superintendent evaluation and executive session: The board approved a proposed timeline for the first-year superintendent evaluation and discussed using executive sessions in November to review evaluation scores. Later in the meeting Speaker 2 moved and Speaker 11 seconded that the board enter executive session to discuss nonelective personnel matters under the COMA exemption; the board approved the motion and recessed into executive session as stated.
