Parks Commission directs staff to post community-building schedule online, approves Adopt-a-Park work party

The commission then considered a volunteer work party to stabilize the new trail surface connecting the community building and Mingus Park. Jamie Faraday moved and Bill Davis seconded a motion directing the Adopt-a-Park subcommittee to set a preferred date (September 6) to organize volunteers to place log bunks and water bars ahead of the rainy season. Commissioners asked staff to post the schedule online, provide modest staff support where available, and rely on community volunteers for labor-intensive tasks.

Commissioners emphasized grace during the scheduling transition for the Boy Scouts, while noting a posted online calendar and blackout dates would help prevent conflicts going forward. Staff agreed to post the schedule and coordinate outreach through the Adopt-a-Park subcommittee.
