Board members debated family impact and enforcement. One member suggested reinstating a family cap to avoid penalizing households with multiple school-age children; another said they would prefer to eliminate fees entirely. After amendment to add the $400 cap, the motion to adopt the “Plan A (amended)” passed 6–1.
The approved plan requires families to register at least two weeks before the first day of school; late registrations will be considered only after routes and staffing are settled. District officials said they will analyze family counts and can return with additional adjustments if necessary.
The board did not set a date for final review of the policy changes; next steps will be administrative implementation and communication to families.
