Assistant Superintendent Pam Stratham introduced IMA and Benefits Direct to report on the district's open-enrollment process. District leaders said the transition and data migration were completed smoothly and that the outside partners met expectations.
Benefits Direct reported higher-than-expected participation: of 978 eligible employees, appointment slots and counselor sessions were widely used and survey feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Presenters said 99.3% of respondents found the individual counseling session beneficial, counselors received a 4.9 out of 5 knowledge rating, and the new MASA emergency-transport option (covering both air and ground transport) was selected by 89 employees. Presenters described MASA as a protection against large out-of-network ambulance or air-transport bills.
Board members asked whether employees who declined district medical coverage were typically covered by spouses or parents; presenters said spouse or parent plans were the most common reasons. No formal board action was taken; the presentation was informational.
