Monmouth — The council recommended that the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) approve an on‑premises liquor license for Kindi Thai Eatery during its Oct. 1 meeting after a police background check showed no concerns.
Sergeant Mike Strack, detective supervisor for the Monmouth Police Department, presented the license application and said he found no issues with the owners or business during his background investigation. "They're looking to begin selling malt beverages, wine, cider, distilled spirits to accompany their delicious food menu," Strack said.
Councilor McHugh moved that the council recommend approval to OLCC; the motion was seconded and the council registered a voice vote in favor. No opposition was recorded in the meeting minutes.
The action was a council recommendation to OLCC; final licensure is decided by the state commission. The council’s recommendation will be included in the local record submitted to OLCC.
