Monmouth — The Monmouth City Council adopted Resolution No. 2000 on Oct. 1, approving the city’s annual fee and charges schedule with adjustments tied to CPI and several new line items, including a $500 initial two‑year electric scooter license.
City Recorder Phyllis Bowman presented the comprehensive schedule, noting most updates were automatic CPI adjustments and that she omitted a redline version this year but will provide one next time. Councilor Selena Salaveras said she found the document useful and flagged the new electric scooter licensing fee as notable: "I particularly like the electric scooter license, initial 2 year license, how much that is, the $500," she said.
Councilors asked for clearer documentation showing which fees are new versus carried forward and requested a redline copy for future review. Questions were raised about rarely used entries such as taxi rates; staff said the taxi rates remain on the books and have not been adjusted.
A motion to adopt Resolution No. 2000 (repealing Resolution No. 1981) passed on a roll call vote, 6–0. The adopted schedule takes effect according to the resolution and will be implemented by city departments.
