The Ravena Village Board at its Dec. 3 meeting approved audited bills totaling $374,395.48 and addressed routine village business including small budget transfers, a job posting and holiday parade logistics.
An unnamed board member moved to approve audited bills for abstract 7-1-24 (vouchers 7-1 through 7-37) in the amount of $374,395.48. During discussion the board said the total was raised by several large annual-maintenance bills and a substantial paving charge. One speaker described the paving expense as “12 or $13,000,” and another board member said the paving item was $120,000 and that the cost was covered by CHIPs funding. The motion to pay the bills was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Treasurer Sue King (referenced in the meeting) presented small transfers to balance water and sewer collections and an adjustment tied to a grant from the Albany County Soil and Water Conservation District for the Railroad Avenue drainage-pipe replacement completed over the summer.
The board announced a janitorial position at 15 Mountain Road. Duties include cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal and basic facility security. Applications are accepted at the village clerk’s office through Dec. 17; the hours are flexible (generally 12–20 hours per week) and pay will be based on experience.
Officials also reviewed the holiday parade logistics: line-up at Queenman’s Landing at 5 p.m. and a 6 p.m. start, a brief stop at Archery to light it, and a post-parade tree-lighting and refreshments hosted by the town of Queenman’s. The clerk’s office phone number was provided for parade sign-ups.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn.
