Navigation update: Port staff say $3.8 million in federal donor/energy port funding is incoming

Jan, the port's navigation presenter, corrected last month's funding figure and told commissioners the port is expected to receive $3,800,000 in federal donor and energy port funding. Jan said paperwork has been completed and submitted to the district and that port engineering staff have begun the necessary steps.
Jan also said a meeting is set in July with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Colonel Jones of the New Orleans District to discuss related matters.
"So I need to to correct last month's report to say that we're getting $3,800,000 in donor and energy forward funding," Jan said. Staff said they would notify the board when funds appear in the port's accounts and continue with engineering actions required to access the money.
