Ravena Village leaders announced a revised parade route for Dec. 7 that will step off at Queenmans Landing Park, proceed through the village, pause at the community Christmas tree, then continue down Pulver Avenue to Mosier Park for light refreshments, a holiday craft, Santa photographs and a bonfire.
Organizers outlined staging details: large floats and trucks will assemble via Westerlo Street and the driveway adjacent to the sheriff's department; walkers and smaller vehicles will line up at the landing. The village requested volunteers to help with lineup from about 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the fire department is expected to stand by at the event.
Separately, the board reminded residents about the house-decorating contest. Homes must be decorated and lit by Dec. 12; judging is planned Dec. 15'16 (one trustee said the 16th was likely) and winners will be announced at the Dec. 17 meeting. The contest will award two "best decorated" prizes plus a mayor's choice award.
Residents were encouraged to contact the village clerk's office to sign up for parade participation.
