Board approves Terracon contract for Berth 4–6 reconstruction testing

The Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District on Nov. 27 authorized the executive director to enter a services agreement with Terracon Consultants to provide construction materials engineering and testing for the Berths 4, 5 and 6 reconstruction project at City Docks.
Staff told the board Terracon’s cost proposal is $314,390 with a $50,000 contingency. The work covers testing of foundations, concrete and structural steel and is built into the project budget. The board moved, seconded and voted to adopt the agreement.
Separately, the board accepted as complete the rehabilitation of Berths 2 and 3 (project PLC CP16008; State Project H13162), enabling the contractor, Beau Brothers, to receive retainage.
