Court administration told Crawford County commissioners on Dec. 18 that it is pursuing a 2025 AOPC security grant to add audio-visual capabilities in the juvenile hearing officers’ room.
Heidi, speaking for the courts, said the equipment would let incarcerated parents participate by videoconference and make it easier to involve expert witnesses from Pittsburgh. She provided vendor estimates: D'Agostino Electronic Services quoted $23,134.37 for equipment, a Dell laptop was estimated at $992.39, and electrical and construction materials were estimated not to exceed $873.14, for a total project cost of $25,000. Heidi said AOPC has preapproved the project for reimbursement.
Court staff also asked to ratify smaller purchases, including a replacement color LaserJet Pro printer (not to exceed $489) and payment of a $343.38 invoice to MobileComm for a one-year security-camera service agreement. Staff described the MobileComm invoice as overdue and said they would try to resolve the billing issue.
What happens next: Court staff asked the board to ratify the grant-related purchases and invoices at the next meeting; the Dec. 18 session recorded presentation and preapproval notice from AOPC but no funding decision by the commissioners during this work session.
