Severance council adopts 2025 budget and appropriations

The Severance Town Council adopted the town’s fiscal year 2025 budget and passed an accompanying appropriation resolution on Tuesday after a statutorily required public hearing.
Town Manager Mr. Wharton presented the budget and said there had been no changes to the document since the council last reviewed it. The mayor opened the public hearing and asked for public comment; no members of the public spoke.
Councilmembers commended staff for the clarity of the budget materials. “This budget was easy to read, easy to go through,” Councilmember Vandermark said, and other members echoed appreciation for the improved presentation and transparency. The council then moved to approve Resolution 2024-46R adopting the FY2025 budget and, immediately afterward, passed Resolution 2024-47R appropriating sums for 2025 operations and capital projects.
The council emphasized that public copies of the budget are the same materials received by council and invited residents with questions to contact council members or management. Both resolutions passed on roll call.
